I’m back!!! After a week off, I’m back with something to FREE download and a nice discount on a very popular pattern! There is also, of course, a good tip of the week and “only in Indonesia” photos. I also tell about a new knitting pattern I’m making by request from a couple of people. And there is a preview of the new pattern that’s coming out tomorrow!!!

My newsletter

I’ll tell you a bit about this first. From now on the newsletters will appear on my website on Saturdays. Since all newsletters will remain on my website, you can read them on Sundays if you like that better.

The reason for changing the day is needing some rest. That is understandable, of course. On Saturday I have much more time and so I can type my newsletter and then enjoy the Sunday after.

No newsletter last week because I was really tired that day and it was also the last Sunday my aunt was here on vacation and wanted to enjoy those last days she was here. So I took the week off 😊

Knitting pattern

I am working on a new knitting pattern at the request of some ladies who had seen a crochet pattern of mine but can’t crochet. They can knit though and they asked if I can make a knitting pattern out of that pattern (I won’t say what yet 🤭). And I can so I am working on it. It was on my to-do list anyway so might as well make it now. As soon as it is finished you will see it on Facebook, Instagram and here on my website.

Only in Indonesia

My aunt came to visit me here in Indonesia and of course we saw a lot. But I couldn’t take pictures all the time because I had to drive. Those who know anything about Indonesia are definitely going to know that Indonesian traffic is super dangerous. Holding a cell phone while driving is really not a good idea.

Here are 3 pictures that I did manage to take.

Photo 1: That silver-colored guy is a beggar. Because begging is illegal here, they look for other ways to beg without getting arrested. Like painting their whole body and then standing there like that all day.

Photo 2: I took this photo from the terrace in the hotel where my aunt was staying (= Lombok Beach Hotel in Batu Layar). Those clouds suddenly came and it became really dark. As if it was already evening. And I had to walk home in that weather 😬.

Photo 3: That’s the result of those clouds. It was flooded in front of the gate of my house. All the way to the middle of the street! I had to walk through that with long pants. Try not to lose your sandals in that water or even worse: to fall in that water 🥴🥴🥴.

Tip of the week

This week’s tip of the week is one for knitting. We need to help the knitting people sometime too 😊

The tip is: when you cast on or cast off, do so with a needle that is 0.5mm larger than the one used for the knitting project itself. This is to prevent the beginning or end of your knitting from being smaller and tighter than the rest.

So for example, if you want to knit a scarf with 4mm knitting needles, cast on and off with a 4.5mm knitting needle. Super easy it is and with such beautiful results.
