In this newsletter I tell you about my new review for discount option. There’s also a great tip of the week. I got nice Only In Indonesia pictures for you. I also tell about upcoming patterns, my plans for this week and Christmas, an annoying gecko. Long story short: keep reading because it’s gonna be interesting.

I ran out of yarn

Yep, that’s what happened 😧 I was working on a new Barbie pattern and I ran out of yarn of course. Working on a Barbie dress to be precise. Will need quite a bit of yarn for this one. I’m only halfway and I already absolutely love this one. It’s gonna be amazing. I can assure you of that.

But I ran out of yarn. How stupid of me not to order more yarn earlier. I already ordered some now and in the meantime I will work on another pattern. It will be either a 2in1 pattern or a 3in1 pattern. Not sure yet what I’ll do with this one. I usually just go with whatever comes to mind that moment.

As for that Barbie pattern, this one will be a couple pattern. So a dress for Barbie and clothing for Ken as well. I won’t tell you exactly what this will be because keeping you curious is so much fun 😂 But it will be nice. You’ll see 😊

In the meantime you may guess what the pattern will be. 1 person that guessed right will get the pattern for free.

Honorina Angel

Here’s a picture of that angel first:

That’s my angel. I wanted something simple but beautiful and that’s what I came up with. She’s named after my 3x great grandmother Honorina. Most of the time I look for names in my family tree. To honor my ancestors and thank them for the DNA they have given me and because there’s so many beautiful names in my family tree. And by many I mean MANY. After years of working on my family tree I have one that goes back over 1000 years. And so that is really a lot of names. Many of the last names in my family tree are the same as some of my customers. Makes me wonder. Could we be family? That would be amazing!

Gecko

If you google the word gecko real quick you will see that it is a lizard. Those not so keen on lizards will find this animal scary looking. They are everywhere here where I live. They won’t bite unless you attack them. I don’t mind about these animals. They eat mosquitos so they’re quite useful actually. But….during mating season that make a lot of noise at night. Every couple of minutes you’ll hear them and it can be loud.

This week I had one in the bathroom next to my bedroom. The whole night I would hear that animal. Rather annoying when you’re trying to sleep so my kids and I decided to move him. Wasn’t easy but we managed to move him to the other side of the garden. We thought that was more than far enough. But we were so wrong. 2 hours later he was back and to make matters worse, he brought a companion 😬

Oh well, it’s no use to try relocating him again so we’re just gonna leave it there and get used to the sound. It won’t be mating season forever after all.

I might make a gecko crochet pattern next year. Got plenty of real-life examples all around me to have a look at to make sure it looks realistic. Can stick him on the wall and see if I can fool real gecko’s with a fake crocheted one 🤭

This week and Christmas

The coming week and Christmas day will be a little more busy than usual for me. I will of course continue to answer your questions, send purchased patterns, … as usual. But it might go a tiny bit slower than usual. Not a lot of course because I don’t like to keep people waiting.

On Saturday I’ll be making pudding for the police officers and soldiers who will be guarding the church 24hrs/day on the 24th and 25th. All those working in the church got their things to do and I was put in charge of making pudding. And lots of them because there will be a lot of police officers and soldiers guarding the church.

On Sunday morning I’m going to church for the 4th Advent mass and then in the evening I’m going back for the Christmas Eve mass.

Then on Monday back again for the Christmas morning mass.

I got 3 new pictures again for you. Have a look at them here:

Photo 1: You see that regularly here. Soldiers running in groups on the street. The traffic here can be terribly dangerous. But they just run through it and never get knocked over. People always move aside nicely. Tourists sometimes look confused though. Makes me wonder. Don’t soldiers run on the street in other countries? I don’t really know.

Photo 2: Those little flowers came out of the ground in a pot and I have no idea what species they are. Really like them though. They are pink!!! My favorite color.

Photo 3: This Christmas tree is now in the mall here. It’s not a real tree. Just a metal stand made with rings and around it they tied Christmas garlands. Perfect for a country where no Christmas trees grow in nature.

Tip of the week

This week’s tip of the week is again with a YouTube video like last week. This week though it’s about sewing hair on an amigurumi doll. My Honorina Angel’s hair is done this way.
