It's a new day, a new week and time to try something new

You may have seen my Facebook post about my Whatsapp channel and me wanting to make announcements there. I really thought that was a good idea because here in Indonesia, "everybody" does things that way. Everything is done and announced via Whatsapp. So I thought, why not try things this way for Craftygenesindonesia.... Well, that seems to have been a mistake. Very few of my Craftygenesindonesia fans even knew Whatsapp channels existed and even less knew how to use or find them. Then I found out that using a Whatsapp channel just isn't a thing in the Western world.

What I thought of doing instead of a Whatsapp channel, is just simply using @everyone in my newsletter announcement on Facebook. Everyone in my groups will get this notification and so there is no chance that people will miss the announcement about the new newsletter and if there's a coupon code in the newsletter for example. The Facebook algorithm sometimes hides announcements we really want to see and so this @everyone seems like a good idea.

I won't overdo it of course. I would hate to have people feel bothered by it. It's just when there's a new newsletter and perhaps when there's a new crochet or knitting pattern. I will not be doing this for any other Facebook posts or announcements. That makes it at once a week and once or twice a month extra when there's a new pattern.

In the spotlight

This week I have 3 crochet patterns in the spotlight. I made them quite a while ago and they deserve some love and attention too.

These are 3 of my crochet nativity sets. Just simple holy family nativity sets. Good for those who do not have a whole lot of space to put a large nativity set on display. Or for those who just simply prefer smaller nativity sets. I like my nativity sets enormous but I know I'm a weird one and that not everyone shares my love of huge nativity sets 😄

Discount for review

This morning I added a new reviews form to my website to allow people to upload images or even a video of what they made with my patterns. It also allows my customers who purchased my patterns on Haked, Etsy, Ravelry or Payhip to post a review here on this site. And best of all, this new reviews form has a "discount for review" function attached to it.

That means whenever you post a review here on this website (on the product pages....not on the free pattern pages), you will receive and email. In that email will be a coupon code that will get you 5% off your next purchase. This coupon code is valid for 30 days and even works for patterns that are already on sale. You can't used 10 coupon codes together though so no point in trying that 😬.

Question & answer

On every product page you will now also see a question & answer section. This allows you to ask questions about that particular pattern without having to go to the contact page and other customers will be able to reply to you. It creates a nice place to ask questions to other users without having to deal with some sort of algorithm such as on Facebook.

These questions will stay there so that other users with the same question won't even have to ask anymore. The question and the answer will already be there for them to read it.

And don't worry about anyone saying your question is a stupid one. No questions are too stupid and if I see any rude answers, I will remove them at once. This has to be safe space to ask your questions without the fear of being called stupid or getting laughed at.
