This clutch bag is 23cm x 13cm (9” x 5.1”)
Materials:
Yarn: light weight (3) yarn suitable for amigurumi and a size 3 mm crochet hook in:
- Light pink (about 150 yards) (about 135m)
- Black (between 150 and 165 yards) (between 135m and 150m)
Crochet hook: size 3 mm
Stuffing – stitch marker – scissors – tapestry needle – sewing pins – an iron
Sewing needle and thread (and a sewing machine if you have one)
Lining fabric: 40x40cm (15×15”) (I used cotton fabric but satin would be nice too)
Gauge: 11sc stitches x 11 rows = 5cm x 5cm (2” x 2”)
If you don’t know how to measure this, then cut a 5x5cm (2×2”) square
out of cardboard and place it on your test piece (see picture). The
amount of stitches and rows in the square should be as mentioned
above. If you have a different amount of stitches and rows, then change
the yarn or change the crochet hook or leave it as it is but then the
clutch bag will be slightly different in size
Abbreviations:
(click on the stitch names to go to a tutorial for those stitches. Each tutorial is with a video and pictures)
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- inc: increase = make 2 single crochet in the same stitch
- dec: decrease = single crochet 2 stitches together
Row examples:
*2sc, inc, 2sc* repeat till end = 2sc, inc, 2sc, 2sc, inc, 2sc, 2sc, inc, 2sc, ..
*3sc, inc* repeat till end = 3sc, inc, 3sc, inc, 3sc, inc, ..
The color of yarn you are to use for your row, is mentioned at the end of the row. When nothing is mentioned, use the same color as the previous row.

Lining:
- Measure the height and the width of the clutch (see pictures below)

Cut a piece of fabric 2x the height of the clutch + seam allowance and 1x the width of
the clutch + seam allowance (I used a 1cm seam allowance, you can use a different
seam allowance if you wish to do so)

Sew and iron the fabric according to the pictures below (you can sew this by hand a
backstitch or with a sewing machine

- Place pink cover (part 2 of pattern) on the clutch and place a pin where the button
should be (see pictures below) - Attach the button to the clutch (see pictures below)

- Attach the ring to the side (see pictures below)
- Pull the strap through the ring and sew short ends together (see pictures below)

- Attach the cover (part 2 of pattern and in light pink) according to the pictures below
(and on the next page) the front of the clutch (pictures 1 and 2) is where the cover
reaches the bottom and the back of the clutch is where the cover reaches ¾ down
from the top (picture 3)

- Insert lining, pin in place and sew the lining to the inside of the clutch with sewing
thread and needle (see pictures below)

Detailed explanation of row 15 of part 2 of the clutch:
Step 1: first do the following 5 times: 1dc, ch1, skip the next stitch. AFTER you have done
that 5 times, make 1dc, 1ch and skip 1 stitch.
Step 2: repeat step 1 till the end of row 15
