Supplies:
Yarn: light weight (3) yarn suitable for amigurumi and a size 2mm crochet hook in:
- blue
- red (just a strand for the mouth)
Crochet hook: size 2mm
Stuffing – stitch marker – tapestry needle – scissors – glue
Wiggly eyes: 1 set
Keychain ring: 1pc
Abbreviations: (click on the stitch name to go to a tutorial about that stitch)
- Ch(s): chain(s)
- Sl st: slip stitch
- Sc: single crochet
- Hdc: half double crochet
- Dc: double crochet
- Inc: increase = make 2 single crochet in the same stitch
- Dec: decrease = work 2 stitches together with a single crochet
The color of yarn you are to use for your row is mentioned at the end of the row. When nothing is mentioned, use the same color as the previous row.
Work only in back or front loops when this is mentioned. When nothing is mentioned, work in both loops.

Row 2: inc in every stitch (12)
Row 3: *1sc, inc* repeat till the end (18)
Row 4: *1sc, inc, 1sc* repeat till end (24)

Row 6: *2sc, inc, 2sc* repeat till end (36)

This is an easy to follow pattern for 2 beautiful clowns. They make perfect gifts for any child and are great for using leftover yarn.

Row 13: *5sc, dec* repeat till end (36)
Row 14: *2sc, dec, 2sc* repeat till end (30)
Row 15: in back loops only: *3sc, dec* repeat till end (24)
Row 16: *1sc, dec, 1sc* repeat till end (18)
Row 17: *1sc, dec* repeat till end (12)
- stuff now
Row 18: dec 6 times (6)
- yarn off
- attach the same yarn to any of the front loops of row 14
- do the following in the front loops of row 14:
Row 1: 1sc in every front loop of row 14 (30) with blue
Row 2: *5dc in the third stitch, 1sl st in the 5th stitch* repeat till end
- yarn off
- make the tentacles now:
Tentacles:
Row 1: ch56 with blue
Row 2: start in the second ch from the hook: 2 hdc in every ch (110)
- yarn off with a tail
- make another 3 tentacles or more if you wish to have more
- attach a key chain to the top of the octopus
- glue wiggly eyes on the octopus
- sew a mouth below the eyes with some red yarn
