In this crochet stitch tutorial I’ll show you how to make the half double crochet stitch. It’s a simple stitch and used LOT. Really a LOT. Sometimes you’ll need this stitch on its own, sometimes you’ll need it for fancy stitches. But don’t worry, it’s not a difficult stitch to learn. You’ll get the hang of it in no time!

Now comes the step by step picture tutorial. One thing I would like to say about the half double crochet is don’t pull the yarn too much. You don’t want it loose obviously, but no need to pull as if your life depends on it. That would create weird looking stitches and it wouldn’t be pretty at all. And they would be difficult to work with.

If you want to learn to make another stitch, try the double crochet. This one is used just as much as the half double crochet. A very very useful stitch! And since it looks a whole lot like the half double crochet, it should be easy to learn because you already know how to make the half double crochet.
